The Freedom Writers - a reflection
Ms. Gruwell, who were a new English teacher to a school with high racial tension, got assigned to a class who were considered to be the worst class with the worst students, at that time. And this is how the story began.
What I love for this story is Ms. Gruwell herself and her great passion for teaching. Even though it is so hard for her cause at first, her students shows no interest with her class, disrespect her, won't attend the lesson, and students fights with each other, still, Ms. Gruwell believed that one day her students will change. She manage to think everyday of different strategies and approach just to get the attention and trust of her students. She always finds a way even it is beyond her limit. And yes, they changed and find home to their classroom where they used to take for granted. This things made me admire Ms. Gruwell even more,
I learned that at the end of the day, it's not what you try to teach them that will be left in their mind, but who and what you are that touches their heart. And all you need to have in order to make progress is a passion for what you are doing.

You're right ate bevs. Passion is what we need to be productive.
